Trees wearing hot colors do a slow striptease
while standing in the spotlight of a golden chill.
Their dry leaves provide the applause
as they dance closely with the wind.
The audience shamelessly watches the show
while sipping hot cocoa.
After the stage is raked clean,
the heavy perfume of burning leaves lingers
to remind us of our seduction.
